Name of present: Music Cd
Do you make it or buy it? Make it
Total cost: Free (blank CD 'borrowed' from work) or about £1
Details: On the CD burn music that is special to that person. Me and hubby had been together for 10 years, finding a present that was different (and cheap) was hard, so I decided to set a challenge, we had to give one present that we had made ourselves. I sat down and went through all the music that meant something to us in the 10 years that we had been together, so I started with our song, cheesy I know but I had to start somewhere, and then took it from there, thankfully I had most of the music on other discs, but I did have to borrow some. Great present that went down really well.0 -

Hi Martin
I am entering the competition. The RSPB are selling little lapel badges for £1.00. I have seen them on offer at tourist information offices. They will make really great little presents. They are in the form of British wild birds, enamelled onto gold-coloured pins. The kingfisher and swallow are particularly nice in my opinion. They are also great to post, so if you have relatives or friends who might be missing dear ol' Britain in December, why not send them one of these?0 -
- Name of present? Custom designed T-Shirts
- Do you make it or buy it? Make It
- Total Cost? about £3
- Details (the more the better) Buy some T-Shirts from Asda/Tesco (£3 for 2) and buy some Iron on transfers (eg from WHSmith for light coloured material here or for dark here) 1 sheet is used per T-Shirt (or if you are thrifty like me you can put 2-3 designs per page) so you can make many from a pack. Then think of the design you want - could be a photo, a caption or sentence, any other picture or any combination. Then create it - its not tricky, just use a graphics editor or word processor (eg Word) - or any other software you are familiar with (even a spreadsheet!) just like you would if you were making a poster etc. Then print out and iron on. Easy, cheap and effective - great for 'Office secret santas' etc.
- Where possible please add a link if it's an online offer

Go to Car Boot Sale, buy World Globe, preferably with a light in.
This makes a wonderful night light and is a great way of explaining where the child lives and all the places that come up be it holiday, news, school history, geography or what. Usually available at Car Boot for £2 or £3
Stamps , you can buy a big big bag of assorted stamps or themed stamps - animals, trains, famous people and etc. £4.99 will buy lots. Again a wonderful present helping with history, geography and a possible interest for life.
Car Boot again - sort through every stall - I bought a big stamp album, the slot in sort for - YES 20p and it must have had 200 stamps in it.
Think about this, I worked on a swimming pool installation for a man who had turned his hobby of stamp collecting into a very good business. He was driving a Ferrari at the time. You could be setting a child up for life.
Regards
