Hello,
My entry for the festive present for a fiver is this:
As a graphic designer, I always think of what skills I could use to make people Christmas presents each year.
This year, I've made a great present for my mum. She loves Cliff Richard (!), and I've bought a nice, yet cheap photo frame, and inside I've placed a photo of Cliff - downloaded from the internet - with his arm around my mum - who I've super-imposed onto the picture.
It looks quite realistic.
And, as an extra touch, I've put Cliff's autograph on the photo too - so it looks like she went to see him and they're great friends!
OK - not strictly kosha, but it's not due to get passed around - or even passed off as real!
I recon she'll love it!0 -

Name of Present: Personalised Mugs
Do you make it or buy it? Make it
Total cost: £3.49 per mug
Details: These are a fantastic idea. How to keep your kids entertained and save money! The mugs are purchased from a place called Yellow Moon. Which in turn forward on a percentage of the money to your chosen school or playgroup. Once they are delivered you can decorate them with pens, transfers etc. I have got my little boy to design a mug for each of his grandparents. So 4 mugs (3.99), 1 pack of porcelain pens (9.99) = £3.49 per mug. You have the option to design plates, bowls etc. The best bit is, next year i can buy the plates or bowls and i already have then pens so it will be even cheaper!

Total cost - £1 - £5 depending on what you buy at Poundland. Card sets/ card/envelopes etc but use things that you have around the house too which won't cost you anything
Details - Buy items from Poundland and make up greetings cards. Use pictures, sentiments cut from used cards, also use ribbons, buttons, beads, dried flowers, wallpaper samples from DIY stores. Make inserts by printing verses on your computer. Combine the finished card with an envelope and give half a dozen or so to friends all wrapped up in classy wallpaper instead of buying wrapping paper or a box. They'll have no excuse then to forget your birthday!
I have done similar for my Dad's birthday (most Dad's have everything by the time they reach their 60's!!!) and labelled it "Husband Pack". 1 x christmas card, 1 x Valentines card, 1 x anniversary card & 1 x birthday card. He absolutely loved it as he always forgets 1 of those 4 occasions, different 1 each year!!!!
Well recommended!Natwest Card 27.06.10 (reduce every month) £267.63
Gave up smoking 16th July 2007 :T0 -
Name of present posh personalised mug or any ceramic
Make it or buy it make it
Total cost £4.09 for a set, inc p&p
Details You buy some magic decal paper from a fab company called Crafty Computer Paper. It's A4 size so you can do a lot with a sheet. You print anything you like on it using a laser printer or photocopier, then iron it or run it through a laminator, cut it out, stick it on a mug or any other ceramic object, and put it in the oven to harden. Here's the good bit... IT WILL BE DISHWASHER PROOF!!! So if you do one of those plain mugs we all have in the cupboard, it'll only be the cost of the paper and postage. If you use a small logo you could theoretically do a whole dinner set with one or two sheets, and unlike usual personalised mugs etc you can use them all the time! The paper is here http://www.craftycomputerpaper.co.uk/products-Magic-decal-paper_256.htm I haven't used it myself yet but I got 6 mugs from Asda at less than 20p each to make a really nice set for my husband and I can't wait!0
