PILON or not - and JSA

Hi

I have posted on Benefits board but it was suggested that it'd be worthwhile sharing on here too for advice - would welcome your thoughts please?

Hi all

Thank you in advance for reading/replying
I have had my contract terminated and my 13 weeks contractual notice is being paid in advance - however, I do not have a PILON clause in my contract. Therefore IMO this is a settlement rather than PILON (technically my contracts being breached). My question - in either event, does it affect my claim for contribution based JSA?
Also - in the conversation where I was terminated, it was explained that my region was being split into the other regions as it did not work efficiently - in the letter (which my work coach wants) it says they lost confidence on my ability to deliver - can this impact my claim?

It's not a settlement. It's PILON. Whether that impacts on your JSA I can't say. But you are being paid 13 weeks wages and being paid them in advance. That isn't what a settlement is.

I presume you don't have two years employment?

I think that the verbal reason sounds to me like the polite version of the written version - just nobody wanted to say to your face that they didn't think you could do the job. But unless you have two years employment there'd be nothing you could do anyway. If you do, then possibly you might.

No - I understand your JSA claim would relate to your actual termination date (or claim date if you did not claim straight away).
