Clean handprints off a HD telly it has a weird screen that has a funny texture so don't want to use anything that might damage it (it is DH's pride and joy) but the baby handprints are driving me mad any tips>

We just bought one for our bedroom and it clearly says in the book to not get finger marks on the screen as they are almost impossible to remove without damaging the screen... so I have been extremely careful.... thats not a lot of help if you are trying to keep a toddler away.... not sure what the answer is but it also says not to clean with anything 'wet'.... just a clean dry cloth...

If it's the same kind of screen as a TFT computer monitor then you can use a slightly damp cloth and gently wipe over the surface when it's switched off.

It irritates me when everyone at my work pokes and prods their monitors to point things out, I feel like screaming at them "YOUR KILLING PIXELS - STOP DAMAGING THE MONITOR!!!" :d

i didn't find screen wipes very useful so have now started using a microfibre cloth damped with water, cleans it brilliantly and with a 1 yr old and 4 yr old it is constantly covered in handprints!

I would 'phone the shop where it came from and ask them, they must get the display ones covered in all sorts of things.

If the screen is damaged by using the wrong thing then it will be really annoying.

I use to work with someone who would go don't touch the screen please. That was with CRT screens as well.

I use slightly dried out baby wipes on my tv and it hasn't damaged it, although I don't do this on a very regular basis, I am on MSE far too much to have time for housework!

Being serious now what about a dry microfibre cloth.

They are very good at cleaning with out any cleaning fluids.
