Need advice on SetTopBox that can do RTE and UK

Hi all need some advice on getting a new set top box Recently got rid of sky so lost my rte recording privileges Im in coleraine so i get my RTE from over the border and its not included in the uk signal (as it is with divis) , so have two aerials for two transmitters joined to feed down into the tv box, at present im using a talk talk Huawei box the problem is with two signals there is two sets of information for the tv guide and for series linking this box is only one that can deal with both signals (tho rte is stuck on channel 801 etc) but these boxes are as slow (ie going through menus etc) as a dog so like something faster and more stable. Ive tried loads of boxes inc the talk talk humax box which is good but can't series link same as ever other box, so basically love someone to advise a set top freeview box that can record and handle tv signal from two different countries and as such two separate data signals ie the tv schedule (most boxes do) but to also to do series link for shows on the two different signals (most boxes dont). Any advice is appreciate

I think you just need a freeview HD box. I get tg4, rte 1 and 2 on freeview and all saorview channels too (live sport is not scrambled!). I'm central Belfast with a decent rooftop aeriel.

JulieElizabeth - you're very lucky in that your aerial must be very good, and also in line with both transmitters. I guess you're not getting the Saorview TV guide though.

cozzyman explains himself well. 2 aerials pointing at 2 masts - 1 NI and 1 RoI. He wants a box that is able to cope with the Saorview signal and TV guide as well as the Freeview one. I don't know of a box like this, and if it was me, I'd have 2 boxes!
