Somerfield Coupons

I was disappointed to see that the Somerfield June magazine coupons are for their fresh produce and doubt if my Asda will take them (I do intend to chance my mit like).
However I did find in Somerfield store an A5 size pamphlet, blue with big sunflower thereon, with £2.05 worth of coupons, some lasting until 29th September 2005.
So all is not that gloomy!!

I know that not all ASDAs are the same but I have already used these coupons in my local store and they took them without any problem. I did buy some of the things that were on the coupons like bananas, mangos and grapes etc. but they tokk ones for things I didn't buy as well.
A further thought on this inter-store coupon exchange - if a store is 'not supposed' to accept a coupon then why does the bar code and details of the coupon value exist on their computer system ???Your really can not beat a good bargain !!!0 -

If its a manufacturer coupon, then they probably send coupon details to all stores which stock them.
And its not really hard to get some leaflets from some other store and feed in the details is it ... especially when it will help draw in more customers.0 -
I was disappointed too to discover most of the coupons are for Somerfield's own produce. Has anyone tried scanning them at Tesco? I'm not sure if I dare have a go. I've had a couple of bad experiences in Tesco this last week.
Thanks for the tip about the blue sheet. I'll look out for it.0 -
The June mag.coupons scan and are accepted at my Asda..The Jewel,Edinburgh and according to the till operators that I have used very few people are taking advantage of this.:j0

The latest edition that I picked up today does not seem to have any coupons apart from one for a free yoghurt.
I will just have to get more of the Nestle £3 Joey coupons to make sure I don't run out in the next few weeks. I suppose I can always revert back to using the mumplusone printed coupons but these do tend to cause a bit more of a stir at my local ASDA.Your really can not beat a good bargain !!!0
