I phoned the mortgage provider to see if I could increase my mortgage term ( but I have now decided to leave the term as it is) and they asked about employment and I said I was now self employed. Now they are aware is this likely to cause me be a problem?0

They wont do anything to affect your current mortgage.
They will consider your employment situation if you wish to change your mortgage (as when you asked about changing the term). Since you have dropped that idea it wont go any further.
No harm done.
They wont be visiting you in the middle of the night to turf you out of your home.I am a Mortgage Broker
