the one thing which walking around will do is flag up places you might not have known about, and that's got to be worthwhile, no? Because it might give you ideas for jobs you wouldn't otherwise have thought of.
For example, at the end of the road there's a dentist, a pharmacy, a recruitment agency - WHAT? that used to be a cafe! Great, DH can take his CV in there ...
