It works for me (Finally after 2 days trying).0

Just worked for me - big thanks OP. Kilty, the reduced prices show up just before you pay. I saw an error message when the train times were displayed 'please try again later' but as the page otherwise looked normal I continued and all was OK.
Note to commuters - this works on short journeys too. It's a bit laborious to book each day separately but it's all moneysaving.0 -
I received the email and have been trying to book tickets for the last 24 hours. Their helpline confirmed there was a problem they were trying to fix and I should keep trying. So with the payment screen showing the correct half price fare, I kept trying every 30 mins or so to get my payment authorised. Around lunchtime today I managed to complete the transaction, but on the confirmation screen it gave the total price paid as the full price, not the 50% discounted price shown on the previous screen.
I await my credit card statement with interest to see if I am going to be charged the full fare.
You will have been charged the full fare. The discount comes up on the payment screen, if it did not, you will have been charged the full amount.Gone ... or have I?0 -
This does seem to work with railcards too.0

I got a message saying it can't be used with railcards0

Go to http://www.firstscotrail.trainsfares.co.uk/ and add the journey that you want and select your railcard. Go through the booking process up to the shopping basket page (6 of 7)
Open a new browser window/tab and use the link in the first post. Add any journey (doesn't matter what it is as you'll delete it later). Make sure you don't select a railcard, and again go through the process to the shopping basket page.
This page should then show both journeys and each will have the 50% discount applied to it. Delete the second (non railcard) journey and continue to payment.0 -
Tried again now it is finally working and managed to book 2 journeys for myself and DD and used railcard too. Discount was taken off at payment page and my receipt shows discount too. Worth the wait as these were days out we were making anyway
