Sometime the same job can be a dead end in one business and the start of a career in another.
E.g. Work on a shop till, do it at the local shop for the owner and there's little chance of promotion, transferring or training and his kids are always going to be be ahead of you in the promotion stakes. Do it in a huge supermarket and there 's the option to move location, share saves, pensions and training, someone has to become the team leader. Move sideways into merchantising or buying.
A minimum wage can be dead end or an opportunity.
