Hairspray. (merged threads)

Options
Hi All,
I use hairspray on my hair but after watching the Sarah Beeney programme the other night I'm not so keen now (although will use up what I have, just won't buy any more).
Anyway was thinking about the old-fashioned sugar water people used to use, does anyone know the proportions and how to make it? Also would it be possible to spray it on after putting hair in ponytail or does it have to go on on wet hair or before styling? Any info gratefully received!
PJ

this is a very rough idea but i think if you boil some oranges and water you can get a type of hairspray - has to be used immediately ofcourse

The sugar/water solution was used for setting wet hair not for holding a style as a hairspry. If you try to use it as a hairspray you might find you have every insect, fly, bee and wasp paying you lots of attention.

I googled natural hairspray and found this http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/lv_beauty/article/0,2041,DIY_14101_2268421,00.html

search results came up with quite a few different recipes you might like to dabble with..we need a full success report too if they work!!
