Hi, I want to apply for a mortgage as a first time buyer, but I only have 1 year of residency in UK.
I was living in Italy till last year, then I moved to London for a permanent job. I have a bank account with Barclays and they said that 2 years of residency are required to apply for a mortgage with them.
Do you know if this is a requirement for all UK banks?
Do you have any advice on how to find a good broker?
Thanks.

It isn't.
Other lenders have shorter requirements.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Great! Considering that I'm a first time buyer I would like to find a broker that can help me to search for the best mortgage available.
