Remove my name from a Buy to Let Mortgage

Hello, I am not sure if I have posted this in the right forum.

My parents bought a house 10 years ago, both their names and mine were put on the deeds and mortgage. The put name down because of inheritance, I was told for my future. Recently I meet my wife and got married. I asked my parents to take my name of the mortgage because my wife has a disability and she needs adapted housing. They said the only way to do that is to sell (my Dad will not), re mortgage (my Dad will not because of increased monthly payments). I have a some credit card debt which I normally always pay off but I could not as I am now a full time carer for my wife, we have just had a little boy and all my time goes into caring from them. I mention the debt because my Mum told the mortgage company that I am in debt and the mortgage company say that they will not remove my name until the debt is clear, even though I have sought some advice and was told it is a non consequently debt.

I have submitted to the council a letter waving any rights or financial benefit from the property. I also asked if my parents would set up a trust where they are named as trustees and I am not. On both options the council refused to grant our housing application, they say I own a property and have to make my own arrangements.

We really need some help as our resources are limited and my parents seem to have all the control and financial power.

My wife has been on a terrible journey with her health and we have both been completely consumed into trying to stabilise her health over the last 4 years. I have been homeless and crashed the car twice from complete exhaustion. We need to try and find a way out as my wife is suffering not being able to live in a home suitable for disability. I feel terrible as I feel all of this is my fault. I have sleep on the floor because my wife needs the entire bed to support her joints and not injure herself. If the baby has a bad night I have to take him in his cot to our kitchen/living to sleep because my wife sleeps is very poor and is easily awoken. We desperately need at the very least basic space. She cannot even get her wheelchair because wheelchair services say the property is not suitable for an electric wheelchair, so I have to carry her around the flat or push her on an office chair and lift her in and out of the bath. Our housing association say they have no housing stock to meet her needs and that we need to go to the council which so far has been a dead end.

If any one has any ideas of what else we can try we would really appreciate your suggestions.

Daniel

Your parents need to do a transfer of equity and remove you from the mortgage and the ownership.

Otherwise, they will have to sell the property to achieve the same result.
