17.10.07 what small dfw thing will you do or have you done today?

OK! You know the format!!

Let us know what small dfw thing you will do or have done today.
Remember that it is not just the bigger changes that help us to become debt free - the smaller things are forming good habits that will help us get there quicker, and will help us stay debt free when we get there!

So today I will:
  • send everyone to work/school with packed lunches
  • make a storecupboard dinner - corned beef hash :D
  • try for a NSD
  • do piggy/quidco clicks and comps etc
  • start working on some new budgets!

  • I came on here about a month ago, saying about my debts, many of you advised me to go to cccs website (woman i spoke to brillliant), I filled in their forms and have received debt management plan....i will now pay £650 a month for next 8yrs pay off my debts..£75,000. If I can earn or get any more money I will to bring debt down quicker !! At the time i was in dire straights, my partner never knew about debt/mother (who lives with me) or son. I told my mother and we both cried (quite a lot) but over that now as for my partner....he left ....ah well. Since this all started I've lost 3 stone in weight,(sheer worry) I thought I'd lose my home,(family home which i bought 10 yrs ago).
I now shop at Aldi's, always on look out for bargains, freebies my whole life changed from how I was before, I have sold every policy i was paying into, premium bonds, jewelery, anything I could sell......be my body next!!
The one thing I've noticed coming through this dire episode in my life, I kept the thought "nothing is worse than bad health, my lovely brother died of bone cancer aged 38,(start of my debt spiral, he moved in with me for 2 yrs fighting cancer) while in his last year of life we did loads of stuff. I dont regret one minute of it our time together, but there is always a price and I'm paying that for next 8 yrs.I'm sure he is with me and be really cross at me for all the money I spent but hey I'd rather have spent it on him than chuck it away on frivilous things.
Anyway, (i feel better for writing that) life goes on, use all my energy into making money as I did in spending it!!!
Thanks again to all (loads) that gave me advice, I'm new on here and didn't know how to reply ........so here goes to next 8 yrs being a slave to the banks!!!

    Hello lovelies!

So far I have not had a shower and just put a jumper and socks on over my PJ/s cos I'm off today and I want to keep my energy consumption down.

But I'll do a really quick shower in a bit so I won't need to put the heater thingy on.

I'm going to walk to town and get a voucher for a free hair cut from Superdrug (it's in the instore magazine)

I'm going to do the laundry and try to hang it out for as long as possible

and I'm going to get back onto eBay as the Strike's got to get sorted soonish huh?

I support the Postal workers btw, but it's too much of a pain when so many of my buyers clearly don't watch the news and think it's because I'm a thieving con-woman that their lipgloss or whatever isn't there yet "and it's been two days now. You've had my money... blah blah blah" (in what sounds like a very shrill voice. )

    Lol ;)

    Love Jacks xxx :D

Well done for all you've done - so sorry to hear that your partner left, but I am glad you are feeling positive about all the changes you've made. Do keep us updated - perhaps cut and paste this post into your own thread and treat it as a diary? I for one would definitely be interested in how you get on!! :D

i'm back on here, after a weekend away with OH (whch was well needed and lovely but did make me feel guilty).
I've got washing on the airers and i haven't given up and stuffed it in the tumbler.
I've put the mobile on the timer to charge during the cheap electric overnight (i feel that this is really sad! lol)

it's stupid but had no problem with turning washer, dishwasher etc on overnight, and turning off hot water,( as everything heats from cold including shower) but putting the mobile on the timer just seemed that one desparate step too far (hope that doesn't offend anyone). And this is from the person who refuses to turn the heating on before Nov or as long as possible (layers are the way forward!) and who's obsessed with turning off lights and nothing on standby.
