Well done GQ, I always look forward to an update from GQHQ but it sounds as if you had a (slightly) more relaxing time than usual.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0

There wasn't really very much time to play with and Mum didn't want stuff pulled around. Plus I do occasionally need to [STRIKE]stop and eat other people out of house and home[/STRIKE] errr, rest, I mean REST.
I also went to a Liddly for some groceries on their behalf.
But she is gently decluttering some things of her own, as is Dad of his own. Drops in the oceans of clutter, but better on the way out than the way in.
Why, this arvo, we noticed that there were some empty spaces on her bedroom bookshelves where the to-be-reads had been removed, read and removed to the chazzers. This meant that the contents of a floor-dwelling box of to-be-reads could be put up there and the box recycled. One less trip-hazard underfoot.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I am indeedy, the trip across The Sticks (a distinct geographical region) revealed wot a beautiful country we have, especially in the merry month of May.
I enjoyed the snowy burgeoning branches of the roadside hawthorns, the seas of ox-eye daisies dancing in the breeze (best place for 'em you wouldn't want any indoors, they stink like cat p i s s, ask me how I know this), the blackbirds impersonating trim phones...... ahh, spring.
I also managed to capture a photograph of Wild Thing curled up on the bare earth of a small empty flowerpot with her nose pressed against another, larger and taller, flowerpot.
We all studied this positioning and collectively agreed, and not for the first time; she's not right in the head, is she? :rotfl:
WT; a very blonde sort of feline. Possibly landed on her head one too many times as a kitten, before she came into the safe-keeping of the 'rents at about a year old. Her littermate, the Queen of Sheba, is the family brains. And possibly psycopathic. I wouldn't like to be in the same county with her if she weighted any more than 4 kg, the way she looks at you sometimes............!
Righty, bedtime. See you on the other side.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

**pootles off thinking happy thoughts about the weird places cats sleep**2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Cats press their noses against things to reduce the oxygen to the brain so they fall asleep... apparently...although it sounds as though WT may have overdone it at some point!0

Well our car boot sale was a success, only 2 boxes of stuff came home with us (destined for the CS today). Just over £100 made and I managed not to buy anything else! (DH however managed to buy a telescope that he's thrilled with)."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

Goodness, I've owned cats for years but never heard that. My late feline companion used to sleep with her head tucked so far under, it was as if she were going to do a forward roll - it used to worry me until I realised it was 'normal' for her. That explains it.
Well done Pooky, I'm gathering stuff for a boot sale on Saturday. Frankly if I make £50 I'll be happy, it's more about getting other people to take my junk away!Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -
I had kondo`ed great big industrial quality shredder, doh, wish I hadn`t because my hot bin is voracious and I cannot get peelings etc into it fast enough, it is full of worms and they need feeding. It does well on paper shreds, so I have ordered a new shredder, 1/3 of the price, the same make but a lot smaller, takes 8 sheets of paper so I am thinking it is ok with thinner card. Looking on the bright side, well it is small enough to keep in the house, handy. I might have to buy a newspaper sometimes, to feed it, as I am not buying as much amazon stuff and that packing paper was always good to shred
Mainly now it is the food that I am getting through eg I had dates, too many from the days when it was get a kilo free when spending £x. I just used 12 oz, made date and walnut cake, not all sugar btw, I used half xylitol, made from beech
Clothes, yay, at last am using summer hm clothing and am loving them. Tops and skirts in many different combos, all pretty well the same type of fabric ie essex linen which is 55% linen and 45% cotton. It is wonderfully cool to wear and doesn`t crease much and beautiful printed fabrics with a bark texture for a skirt. Like this but is a completely different pattern and colour

They make many of my older summer tops pale into insignificance, I am much more into indie fabrics and patterns, so it looks as though I will be having another pass through my older summer tops. I have many patterns by merchant and mills, love them and made 4 indie dresses last year.
Might start on tops today0 -
Morning all - long time no show on this thread
Mainly cos i didn't have much left to declutter :T having sorted it all out post floodgate. For the uninitiated, floodgate happened when my DS was unwell and flushed his boxers down the loo  and  and :rotfl: - however, they came back to bite him on the bum (so to speak) as they got tangled in a load of tree roots in the sewer and caused our office to flood. Luckily for his physical well-being, DS had gone to uni by the time we realised what had caused it.
Six months later we now have a lovely new study (thought it sounded cosier than office), with an ike@ wardrobe where there used to be open shelves. it is fairly ordered in there but still hides a multitude of sins. We also have a much smaller desk and it's altogether a much nicer space to be in.
However, having got my house finally as straight as it's going to be post floodgate,:T, DS is coming home for the summer on Wednesday - WITH ALL HIS STUFFgrr so that is now going to be cluttering up the conservatory that has been cluttered with furniture stored while we sorted floodgate.... It's a never ending cycle...
I have one small filing cabinet to get rid of still - it's brand new and fully assembled, but OH took against it so i am taking it to the chazzer. I offered on our local FB marketplace group but after getting some inane questions ("will it fit in my car...") I have decided that the £15 i was likely to get isn't worth it and the chazzer can benefit.
I have also bitten the bullet and kondoed quite a lot of me - 8lbs so far and about 4 to go. I had got to the point where my clothes were not fitting and i was bu88ered if i was going to buy more...
Off to kondo some weeds...I wanna be in the room where it happens0
