CapQuest - any experience with this company?

Hello all!
A few years ago I had difficulty repaying an Egg loan that I took out in part to clear the remaining debt on my Egg credit card. After several months of burying my head in the sand and making very little in terms of payment I believe they sold my debt to a company called CapQuest. I received a letter about a year ago from Egg stating that "under Section 13 of your Egg Loan terms and conditions we have now transferred our rights and your Egg Loan account to Capquest Investments Limited".
Since this correspondence from Egg I haven't had any contact with Capquest - not even a letter from them regarding the account. Isn't this fairly unusual? Is it possible that my debt has been lost in the ether (if only)? I'm considering contacting CapQuest but I'm not sure if it would be best to just wait it out and see what happens. I'm not in a position at the moment to settle or make payments; though what would be a reasonable settlement on £2500?
Hope you can help.

Hi, yes i have had dealings with Capquest and my advice is under no circumstances do you ring them, they will only push you into making payments you can't afford.
If they do contact you again, go onto the consumer action group website and print off a Consumer credit agreement request template letter and add £1 p/o.
This will determine if they have bought the debt or just chasing you on behalf of Egg. If you have late payment fees you can also claim them back.
There are lots of people dealing with Capquest on CAG forum, any questions just ask. 76Bramble

Do a search on this forum for crapquest. You will find plenty of information about them.
Do not forget, that debt collecting agencies have absolutely no power or authority at all. All they can do is ask you to pay a debt. They may lie, cheat, deviate from the truth, mislead, harass and bully to get their way.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)0 -
