Phone won't connect to WiFi

Options
My daughter's Android phone has suddenly stopped connecting to our home WiFi. I've Googled for an answer, but nothing seems to work.

Steps I've taken so far :

Toggled wi-fi off and on.
Toggled flight mode on and off.
Switched off bluetooth.
Told the phone to "forget" the connection, then re-connected.
Done a factory reset on the phone.
Switched the router off and back on.

The phone recognises the connection, the password is correct, and the connection shows as "Saved" on the phone, but it just won't actually connect.

There have been no changes made to the router ( so it's not been told to block that phone specifically ). All other devices in the house ( phones, tablets, laptops, games consoles etc. ) are fine. Any advice as to what I can try next, before I shell out to take it to a repair shop ? Thanks in advance.

Does it connect to any other WiFi? Friends or family homes, public WiFi hotspots?

Good point. The short answer is "I don't know" as yet, but will try this evening when she gets home. Thanks.

What kind of router have you got? Is it one of those, such as BT designs, which switches WiFi channel to seek out the 'best' channel?

If you have a wireless PC, you can install network 'sniffers' which will tell you which routers are in the vicinity, and which channels they are broadcasting.

If it is switching channels, you may make progress by going into the control panel and setting it to your selected channel, and disabling auto-switching

Thanks for the advice Googler. I must admit I don't know what sort of router it is. We're with John Lewis ( which is PlusNet essentially ), and the router that they sent is about 6 months old or so if that gives any clues ? But I'll have a play around this evening and try out your suggestions. Thanks again.
