Hello All,

Looking for a broker to help me and my wife, wife squeaky clean, myself some issues 5 years ago and good credit management since (2 Tesco credit cards).

Any recommendations please?

I used First Mortgage who were really helpful as we were struggling to find somewhere due to the nature of our jobs. They were really helpful and don't charge a fee either. Just give them a google.

    Have you looked on google?
Personally I would say call up one or 2 and explain your circumstances and see how you get on with them. 5 year old issues should not be a deal breaker in the main, although like anything it depends on the finer details - bankruptcy would be far worse than a late payment on a mobile phone for example.

Looked at Google quite a bit and really couldnt find much in the North West (Id rather take some one recommended from a similar situation), We have had one chap around but he hasn't dealt with much adverse (own statement) and wanted to charge £750 upfront (dont mind paying for services but he didnt fit the bill it would seem).

Issues are 4 defaults within 6 months, (2 Telecoms and 2 Credit Cards), All but one of the credit cards with a balance of £900 paid off. These will all drop off credit file next March.

Would be looking for help to buy equity loan mortgage, borrowing £212,000 on a property of £295,000 (would be putting in more than 5% ourselves)

Combined income of £50k, and outgoings of only £340 a month (1 car HP and a personal loan, both my partner).

Wife has current mortgage in house we have just sold with Halifax (not sure if thats relevant).

Sounds like a case for any broker with experience of Help to Buy with poor credit.

'Googling' for local brokers will give you local brokers.

You don't need a 'local broker', you need a broker with experience of Help to Buy with poor credit.

Replied to your email, sadly I cant help due to it involving HTB.

Nice to hear someone is recommending me though :)
