Sicilian Pastry Shop

phone.gif0131 554 7417We have been buying our cakes from this italian cake shop for many years and have never been disappointed. We dislike the usually dry sponge with the mega thick icing. Here its a light sponge sandwiched in fresh cream with or without jam or custard. covered in fresh cream and fruits like strawberries, kiwi, pineapple, satsumas. And around the edges profitorole pastry . The message written in chocolate. A small cake cost around £11 which will feed 6 to 10 ppl. They also do wedding cakes.
They have many pastries and cakes to buy. Very busy during the lunch time hours. Closed on sundays.

The next best thing is S.luca ice cream cakes , one in tollcross and in musselburgh.

the cake looks gorgeous, great for small family parties. costco do massive cakes for £11, which are really good for large kids parties etc, they taste good too.
  • You can now choose a design on your cake eg a photo or a cartoon charther to be copied on to your cake. My friend had photos of herself as a wee baby on hers. And the cakes are to die for so soft. None of that dry heavy cake with mega thick icing. So light and tasty.
Plan to order on for my thomas mad son who is gonna be 3 next month.

Have to agree with the poster re Costco. I bought a cake from the Musselburgh outlet and a friend brought round a costco cake and tbh the costco cake was superior and bigger.

Wow! sounds fab! Only downside - have to wait till February for someone in the family to have a birthday... ;-)

I have tried the costco cake, it taste very margrine like icing.
Its ok for a large party, but i would only have a small piece.
Where as the cakes from Sicilian Pastry Shop i could happily eat half a small cake in one sitting.:p

Mmmmm I love the Sicilian Pastry shop. Got my Boyfriend a cake from there for his last birthday, chocolate cake, with chocolate filling and icing, profiteroles around the outside and mixed berries on top, yum :)
