Nationwide - 2 hard credit checks?

Hi all!
As the title explains really. We went through a broker who on the 21st December got us accepted by nationwide but our file showed a hard credit check. Things obviously slowed down over Christmas and our full applications got sent in with all the documents on the 11th January. But now both our credit files show another Hard check on the 11th January. What does this mean? This has also had a negative impact on my credit file....
Any help or info would be great? Also when they perform these hard checks would you get instantly turned down as soon as they’ve done them or do they not review them till days afterwards? Thanks 🙂

Anyone? As I really don’t know anything about the process0

I'm going through this process atm. I've read from a few people that they perform a check during the application and can do another check towards the end of the process.0

It's likely just an error - similar happened to me, so just call them and ask and then get them to remove it.Homeowner:j0

Lenders will perform as many checks as they deem necessary, i.e. their internal policy procedure. Data does change over time. From the lenders perspective the check upon receipt of the application would be incase there's attempt to play the system. Also remember that processing is done in volume. There'll be no visibility as to when a check was last performed prior to the receipt of the application.
If you failed to meet their criteria at any stage you'd soon be informed.0
