I can’t stop burping

I can’t stop burping and my stomach hurts if I stop. I think it is a built up of acid. Anything I can do?

    It could be a urease positive bacterial infection. Urease enzyme uses urea in saliva to neutralise stomach acid by creating ammonia. Burping occurs due to the creation of carbondioxide gas in response to the chemical reaction.

    You could have an ulcer. It would be best if you went and saw your doctor who can investigate. They might do a ELISA blood test to detect helicobacter.

    You can either dial 111 or make an appointment to see your GP, we can't give medical advice on here.

    Or talk to a pharmacist. There are quite a few stomach medicines available over the counter.

    Seriously, make an appointment with your GP. Sounds like a hernia is a possibility. If you are getting acid reflux it will damage to food pipe/gullet.
