You do know that with a refresh contract, if you pay the phone off you can cancel the line rental with no penalty?
You have 18 months left to pay for the phone at £21 per month so a total of £378. If you pay that, you can cancel the £30 odd line rental and find a cheaper deal of £10 a month of less so that’s £20 a month saved.
I did not know this. I suspect, with my credit in the bin at the moment, that I would need to stay with O2, but I will definitely plan on switching to a SIM-only deal. I'd rather stay on contract than PAYG for the benefit of the credit reporting - I've never missed a payment in 3.5 years with them.
I'd love to downgrade but the phone I have, the OnePlus 5 is my entertainment hub and office away from work. It'll last me another couple of years too!Debt-free by January 1st, 2019.
