I think that with our current situation you should contact one of the debt charities, such as CCCs or payplan to help you negotiate with your creditors.
One thing to look at is getting rid of most of the insurances, as reality wise i bet they dont offer the cover you expect.
Id also like to sympathise with your current situation, it sounds like you are doing the best thing for your niece, getting her away from a bunch of people who dont sound very nice will be best for her in the longrun.
I think its criminal her mum doesnt pay, also id check with some of the family charities to see if they can confirm what you have been told, re the benefits.
If it is true what you have been told then i think that stinks.
Anyways best wishes and good luck0 -
Many thanks for all the replies - I am going to go to CCCs and get the help I need to deal with this - I will also be taking all the advice regarding ways of cutting back on what I spend- I have made reductions all round already but I am sure I can cut back further- I will cancel the life insurance
Thanks again everyoneDon't get strung out by the way I look,

Hi
I agree re talking to CCCS, but you still need to get your expenditure and income to match. Otherwise you will not even have £1 per month to offer and you would still be racking up more debt.
Your food bill and phones need to be cut. It looks like your car and life insurance could be cheaper, check and switch via www.quidco.com.
Any chane of a better paid job for OH, or better because of the tax and NI situation, some part-time work for you, even if it is evenings or weekends? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Have you thought about a lift share to college? Either split the driving each week or share the cost of pertol. I agree with you about what you say about Devon being expensive however the beautiful countryside more than makes up for it. Walks on the moor or by the sea are great inexpensive days out with kids. I agree about contacting CCCS or payplan they can offer great advice and support.Credit Card Debt

Well I have spoken to CCCs and payplan and they both suggest that bankruptcy is the only option so guess that is itDon't get strung out by the way I look,
