IIRC UK public sector pensions are taxed in the UK - you cannot opt to have them taxed elsewhere, with a few exceptions (Australia, Canada and Cyprus spring to mind).

It's almost impossible to avoid paying tax on pensions, although the rates can vary from country to country.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)
  • EdInvestor is correct - your Police Pension will still be taxable in the UK, the same as my husband's Teachers' Pension (and my Local Government Pension when I can get it).

Any other money will be taxable in Spain, and in can work out better as you get a Personal Allowance in each country.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
