I want a PS3!

I know very little about PS, but have decided to get the kids one for xmas. Basically motivated by the fact that the PS3 will work as a blue ray dvd player. Woolworths are offering the 60gb for 350 quid. Is this the best spec to buy, and also does it up scale normal dvd to hdmi. Any guidance gladly received!

    Hi,

The 60GB version is WELL worth the extra £50. It has backwards compatibility, 4 USB Ports and Memory card slots. All of which the 40GB version is missing (has 2 usb ports though).

The best deal at the moment is blockbusters or virgin, so I would look at those.

Oh, and no, it does not upscale SD DVDs. The one thing the PS3 is lacking, as other than that, it's actually one of the best Blu Ray players on the market! (And the cheapest too)
