 Another valuable benefit is also being cut - death in service benefit is currently 4 x annual salary, being cut to 1 x salary. A kick in the teeth for grieving families. GMB union has made no mention of this - Tim Roache gen. sec. should be offering ASDA members a refund of union subs !
I just can't believe the unions are doing nothing. Not to mention the press not focusing on it

Recent changes to the law have neutered the unions. Welcome to the world of flexible labour.

Seriously, if no one else is trying to protect your terms then it falls to you.

Asda have the gmb in there pockets. The gmb tell members nothing in my depot. Senior shop steward sits with senior management and makes decisions but never tells members, senior shop steward asking members not to go ahead with grievances, shocking!! Thought union are there to help you not stop you.

No meetings with members regarding pensio proposals, but they meet with management!!
One soon to be former member, won't say where but i'm in Scotland somewhere lol
  • Do you know if there is a way to combine my Asda pension with my current active pension with a different company?

Most pensions will accept transfers in.   Some exceptions exist but your scheme booklet will confirm this for you.

If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.

Assuming, as seems to be the case from the thread, that the ASDA pension is a straightforward DC scheme.....
You ask your current pension provider, or your employers pension people if it's an employer pension, to transfer-in the ASDA pension.  If there is no reason why they cant, they will contact the ASDA scheme and arrange the transfer.
