Mortgage Rates and credit scores

Hi. I am remortgaging at the moment and just wanted to get peoples thoughts on providers available for a not so perfect credit score.
It's a joint mortgage and there are 3 late payments on our credit scores.

We have been approved for a rate of 3.43% at Natwest for a 5yr fixed term for our 85% loan to value but I know there are products out there e.g. Yorkshire 2.03 %, Skipton 2.12%, HSBC 3.3%.

Or broker has done some 'soft searches' to check eligibility as being rejected at the application stage seems to make your credit score even worse. We were not accepted by the first one they tried but were accepted by Natwest.

Should I apply to one of the cheaper providers and risk it? I could save £100 per month.

3 late payments does not tell us much. If they were status 1s spread out over 6-12 months on a mobile phone 5 years ago, then you should be fine.

If it was a Mortgage that went to status 3 12 months ago then its a different story.

Likewise, if you have a 25% deposit, it is a lot easier to pass scoring than if you had a 5% deposit.

Chances are you will pass with Natwest all day long and a decline elsewhere will not be a deal breaker but if you were declined elsewhere and then Natwest declined you down the line, how would you feel?
