How to stop spending?

Amazing tips on this thread, I just wanted to echo the topping up amazon idea. I used to do this for certain clothes shops or wherever all my money was going at that time. I'd budget say £40 or £50 and buy a voucher for that shop on pay day. Once it's gone, it's gone.
I also browse amazon when bored and spend needlessly. I have made myself put my phone down and get in the bath, go cook a meal, walk the dog etc (all without phone). Keeping busy is the best way for me.0 -
You forgot something quite important in reducing your shopping bill for primary needs. If you are living not far from a chain supermarkets, buy "reduced item (Yellow Label)" in the supermarkets as much as you could.
Observe it when they reduce the price of nearly expire item. They will normally reduce the item in three stages,. The best price is the final reduction in stage three
Supermarkets are normally do the final reduction about an hour before the shop is closed. Asda do it around 19.00 - 20.00 o'clock.
Imagine how much you could save if for instance a whole chicke cost you £4.00 and you get it for 50p (say). Doing this it is not just saving you money but you are also contributing in saving the planet & enironment.
Thats what I try to do...get the reductions and work from there. I try to go later in the day but its not always possible for me to do so as I take care of an elderly relative in the evening time. So I take the best reduction that I can get when I get there. I agree you can save an incredible amount of money if you live close to the big supermarkets and are able to pop in about 7pm. More people doing this now so you need to be there early !!!!0 -

As opposed to others suggestions regarding Amazon and takeaways, if you have the Amazon & Just Eat (or alternative) apps could you not just press the uninstall button?'Dont Bury Your Head In The Sand As Your Problems Will Still Exist'
