Suggestions please

I went to put towels in the washer tonight and discovered to my horror black mould, despite the door seal being dried and the door left ajar. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it without having to replace the seal??? The last time I had a seal replaced on my old washer it cost me over £100!!

I always dry the seal and leave the door open too and still get the black mould. I've tried Cif, bleach, white vinegar and baking soda. None really worked.
So I'll watch this thread with interest.

Soak some kitchen roll in a strong bleach solution (I did it neat!!!) and place it all round the affected area close the door too (but not shut) so that it holds it all in place then leave it as long as you can if it dries out and it’s not gone replace with more bleach and leave for longer.

I would try bleach and if that did not work then vinegar and as a last resort a mould remover.

Also check the powder drawer and under it because Mould can grow there and dislodge and end up on your washing. When you’ve got it all off a way to prevent it is to do a regular hot wash with powder.

I do not use the powder drawer, use Aldi's concentrated liquid, less than half a capful to a wash.

Even if you don’t use it still gets wet and mould friendly underneath. I’d pull it out and have a look and clean if necessary.

I put my washer on the hottest boil wash every fortnight on the advice of the engineer. It helps keep mould away and clears all the junk from the pipes too. I throw a bit of bleach in when I do it abd it removes any mould.
