Mattresses - John Ryan or Hypnos?

We’re looking for a new mattress and divan bed. After much research I decided on a John Ryan (Artisan Naturals) mattress and so went to a local bed shop to look at divan base only. We looked at Hypnos bases and the salesman gave some convincing spiel about how we shouldn’t buy a mattress online (as that’s what John Ryan is) and we should buy a Hypnos mattress if we’re looking at a Hypnos bed. Because my OH has back problems he said it’s a risk with an online mattress and recommended us a Hypnos ortho elite mattress which we tried in store.

My question is does anyone have experience of either the John Ryan one in question, or the Hypnos - or both? And what the cons are of buying from two separate brands (except the price diff)? Thanks!

Doesn't matter a hoot if the mattress and bed base are different brands.

There are lots of threads on this part of the forum about buying mattresses, but the consistent theme in most of them is: try before you buy.
