Back in the 60s when cheesecake first started appearing in mainstream shops, I used to get one that was very creamy to taste but with a solid, dense texture. It also had sultanas and was on a biscuit base. I think it came from a deli somewhere in or around Paddington.
Nowadays cheesecake recipes emphasise how light they are. I don't want to make a light one - I want to recreate that creamy dense one. Anyone have a recipe?

That sounds like it could be a Polish-type cheesecake - very heavy, very raisiny and very delicious! There's a recipe here on YouTube that might be what you're after?0

I wouldn't put the cinnamon in the base personally , lemon in the top is optional

Thanks. I did have a vague idea that it might be Polish, but couldn't come up with a memory or logical reason why I thought that. All I remember is that it was delicious!0
