    The last five years have been spent on exotic holidays, friends getting married so of course costly hen weekends, going to wedding usually as not closely incurred a hotel stay, present, new outfit, hair, nails, beauty etc. Good memories though! Then came the babies, baby showers, present’s, 1st birthday parties! I know I didn’t need to spend but obviously had no idea about my incoming/expenditure! Horrified to say the least!

    Hi, just read through your diary. You have a great amount to put towards your debt but only if your budget is realistic as others have said.

    I have debt of just over £23000 but there is only me earning in my house and I have six kids! I have budgeted for treats and activities for the kids and if it takes me a little longer to pay my debt off then so be it.

    If your budget doesn't work then don't be afraid to change it and spend a bit more in yourself. If you don't you may go mad and have a spending spree!

    Good luck and I am sure you can do it.
  • Thanks Mum of four kids, I think if I can get the interest costing stuff paid off first I’ll increase my budget for treats to pay off the 0% debt but right now I feel sick about the debt so couldn’t even think about spending any more! Good luck with bringing down your debt.

    Hi and welcome

    If you are looking for some inspiration why not take a listen to Dave Ramsey podcasts , free to listen to from your phone, they are inspirational imo

    you will get there , stay focused on the light at the end of the tunnel and believe me when you make that first payment towards reducing your debt it feels so good! you will just want to continue doing it ,

    good luck

    So 54 days down and I have managed to transfer everything onto 0% so have incurred some charges for the transfers. I have reduced my overall debt by £1200 although it is not as much as I would have hoped for at this stage.

    So I am exactly 3 months into my debt free diary and so far I have only managed to shave off £1108 off so I still have £28314 to go! !!!128561;!!!128561;
    My overdraft charge was £41 this month.

    If all the cards are now at 0% I would tackle the overdraft next. £41 charges for one month are extortionate.

    I know! I have worked out how much I need to pay to each card in accordance with when the 0% runs out. I cancelled a trip away at end of Feb so managed to not spend what I would have but then after my car running like a dream it cost me £700 last month to fix it. I had no success with Ebay and generally have felt I!!!8217;ve lost all hope!
