Hi, I want to make something for my twins (18months) with the following, something that I can freeze as well for a few meals for them..
I have
A swede
carrots
onions
Can of chick peas
I want to do something sort of thick soupy/casseroley..I have the usual stuff in my cupboards, dried herbs/spices, tinned toms, tom puree, oil etc.
If I just chuck it in together, I know it will end up tasteless or I will end up making it taste of chilli (thats how my made up hob stuff usually goes)
Any ideas?

Try a variation on this - slow cooked vegetable soup. You can either add the chick peas before liquidising, or after, or half and half
. If your twins need extra calories, you can add cream or full fat yogurt to it.

Hi there
I would peel and chop the swede, carrots and onion,
Heat a bit of butter and oil in a pan..throw in the veg and cook on a low heat until starting to soften , add a good squirt of tomato puree and a sprinkle of flour.. cook for a couple or minutes...pour in some stock and the tin of chickpeas.... cook until all the veg are soft and then blitz and adjust the consistency with more stock or a splash of milk if needed,
You can throw in a bit of ground corriander with the flour if the little ones will eat it.....
Hopefully using a bit of butter and oil and sweating the veg first will give them more flavour too....-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Hi,
Does anyone have the link to the external website which allows you to type in what's in your fridge, cupboard etc and it will give you a recipe?
Thanks,0 -
Hi there
www.bbcgoodfood.com www.uktv.co.uk/food i believe both of these sites have a facility where you put in your 3 main ingredients that you want to use and it will try and find any recipes that match...-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Thanks for that.
There was one site in particular tho where you could put more than 3 ingredients and it would chuck out a recipe. I'm pretty sure it was posted somewhere but I can't find it. I'm pretty sure I wasn't dreaming0 -
