Mortgage Extension

Hi all
Looking for some voices of experience here. We are looking into extending our mortgage to cover some other expenses, but I have been reading that they might ask for "proof" of what you are spending it on. I'm wondering how likely this is, and what sort of proof they are likely to want, as right now I'm not 100% sure what proof we would be able to provide, and our plans for the money may change slightly.
I realise that each situation will be different, and if it helps anyone our mortgage is with Halifax, we have had this current mortgage for 18 months and we have been given an agreement in principle an acceptable amount. But now we have to have a meeting with the mortgage lender and I'm just wondering what to expect and how difficult it might be to convince them to allow us to have the money.
Thanks in advance for your advice!

Halifax generally don't need convincing to lend money!
In terms of proof, well thats relative to the application and the risk you are exposing yourself / lender to.I am a Mortgage Broker.
