Second time buyers

Hi my partner and I have both owned houses before in previous marriages 3 and 2 years ago. Do we class as first time buyers again and are we eligible for shared ownership at all?

You’ve owned houses before so not first time buyers.

Not first time buyers for UK government first time buyer deals, but you might qualify for the informal 'first time buyer' deals that some mortgage providers offer.

You usually have to be non-homeowners for a couple of years to qualify and it may get you a slight discount or otherwise better offer.

As far as shared ownership goes, you'd have to look at the specific terms of the authority or housing provider you're interested in applying to.
