Loans - any advice?
Options
Hi,
I live alone 200 miles south of my family, and I have a very minimum paying job. At christmas my father got ill and I was the only one able to buy him the medication he needs.
THis, alongside rent, high bills etc means I am now skint and terrified. It is 23 days until payday and I have around £8 left in my account.
I keep getting rejected for payday loans - I've had them in the past and paid them off. Once or twice i paid them late, perhaps thats why my scores tarnished.
I dont have anybody I can ask for money lending from.
Does anybody know of any loan sites where they will accept my bad credit score? And none that require a guarantor either. Im fed up of applying and getting rejected and also worry what this does to my credit footprint also.
I am terrified I'm going to run out of money in the next week or 2 and dont know what to do.
I will be able to pay back the loan as im better off financially now as my hours have increased in work as of this month and my relatives getting a lot better.
I just need something to tide me over for the next few weeks. Many of these sites who say they accept bad credit still reject me
thanks

Your score is irrelevant. However, your history of poor credit management isn't.
You need to cut costs, sell stuff, whatever it takes to get through. You won't be getting further loans.

Try your credit union ? Or as you are trusted with more hours then that is a good sign and possibly should ask your employer for help firstly.
Someone for your family members needs to enquire into their medication support so it doesn't fall to you and possibly try for a refund to recredit you in light of the situation.
Could you look into one of those own car pizza delivery type jobs to boost income short term?0 -
You need to either sell something and/or get some extra work from an employment agency.
You need to consider moving as well if you live down south. You can get minimum wage jobs all over the country. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi leigh944
I think you may get lots more help if you post in the 'Debt Free Wannabe' board; a lot of posters in there are debt survivors so will have ideas to help you make it to payday.
It looks like you may not be able to get a loan - so ask in there for other ideas.0 -

I don’t quite understand why you had to pay for your fathers medication, surely it would be the price of a prescription ?
If he was in hospital the treatment is free, there is remission available on prescription prices if your on a low wage or benefits, if push comes to shove most surgery’s or pharmacists will give you essential meds free.
Why exactly did you have to pay and for what ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Why exactly did you have to pay and for what ?Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.0
