Can someone let me know how someone can become a Web Writer?

For example you can write articles on the web as a promotional tool for your own website and submit your articles at ezine sites where other website owners may use your content - with links back to your site left in the articles. That is my only experience of web-writing and it is a successful way of getting lots of links pointing at your site

I already write articles and submit them to directories. I was wondering if there are any other ways to earn an income doing a similar thing.

Do you write on a particular subject matter? if so, create your own website and run all your articles as a resource. Then use inline ads that target keywords in your text and get paid for clicks through these links. Similarly, use google ads. I make a reasonable amount via these methods.
