Life in limbo

Well it's almost midnight on NYE as I type this. My husband and I have spent the last 2hours discussing whether we have a future together. 2017 has absolutely been our worse year yet. We've been together 7 years.

We have two young children (5yrs and 5months) and my husband financially supports another child. At the minute I'm on maternity leave, money is tight, we have 9k of debt (all 0% interest) and the love in our relationship has all but disappeared. I sway between one minute thinking we'll be ok and we can work it out, to the next thinking it's done and time for us to move on separately.

I'm terrible for thinking other people always seem to have it better than us (admittedly fuelled by obsessive scrolling through social media). Our life looks pretty sweet on my Instagram. It's far from it.

So my NY resolutions are to either make or break this marriage, and become financially sound whether that's on my own or with my husband, and also to be the best mum I can be to my two sons. Here's hoping x

Sounds a very unpleasant place to be right now.

At least you are talking and that is a start. Having two little ones along with debts plus maternity leave is hard. That's a fact I am afraid.

My first suggestion is to ditch the social media. If it upsets you, bin it or at least reduce the importance you give it. Interestingly though you say your instagram gives an unreal picture of your life and I am certain that is true for others too.

And my last suggestion is take a few little steps that will improve your situation.

At this point perhaps you just have to be kind to each other and yourselves

    Take care honey
