Wow another year has flown before our eyes! I saved some but still have bad spending habits (shopping, unneccesary luxuries, which I need to kerb). I've just come back from Tesco's, will be staying in this NYE (like the past few) with wine and nibbles.
What's everyone doing tonight? Also key money goals for 2018.. go!
Achievements:
9 Aug 2021: Achieved a perfect credit score on Experian (999/999 points - Excellent)
Debt free date: 23 July 2021.
Next goals: Save deposit as a first time buyer.
Find ways to increase income
Further reduce budget/ sell old stuff

Goals for October 2018: Eliminate unneccessary spending

  • Staying in with home cooked food but with a bottle of luxury Fizz.
Hope to reign in the spending and maximise ISA savings. Hope the govt reviews the disgusting treatment of 1950's women pensions, so that I might be able to access my state pension before I die in 2018 (don't ask me how I know)
Maintain my budgetary expertise so that I make the most of every penny whilst enjoying life at the same time. That means minimising tax and maximising interest on life savings.
    Happy 2018!

The Vikings will be landing in our village tonight

followed by a Viking Fire Festival through the streets to the village green.

Where New Year will be seen in with beer flowing, and a display of fireworks, with the smell of cordite hanging loosely in the new year air, and Vikings ravaging all and sundry..........lock up ya daughters :rotfl:

Staying in as we do every year. Will probably be in bed by 10 and trying to stay awake with a book until midnight:rotfl:

Roast Beef is about to go into the oven :j

Plan for 2018? Save, Save and Save. We have a holiday booked (taking the OH away for the big 40 which I have achieved on a crazy cheap budget) so no last minute eying up "deal"s as that temptation has already been removed :)
  • Staying in.

Still 2.3k in debt. Finish work at 22.45, would be nice to see my son which I can but that means going to her dad's and having to deal with my son's narcissist mother, no thanks

    Happy New year all
  • Staying in, as I'm working tomorrow. :(

Happy new year to everyone :)

Hubby and I are staying in tonight. Have homemade soup cooking on the stove and homemade multigrain and seed bread baking in the stove. We are both sitting in the kitchen because the smell from the stove is lovely :D

    Staying in.

DP is currently asleep but the plan is to watch the last 2 episodes of Black Mirror and try to stay awake until midnight. We have a bottle of champers chillin in the fridge.

Tomorrow is a nice walk, take the tree and decorations down, clean and start eating healthier!

    Happy New Year everyone
  • Staying in and having to stay up - our collie is terrified of fireworks and they seem to go on for ages after midnight. We don't make a fuss about the bangs, but can't bear to leave her alone when she's so scared so we turn up the TV and sit with her. Our other dog doesn't seem to notice them!
Happy new year everyone. Let's hope it's a good one.
