  • First UU - finished Emma Hardie Moringa cleanser, felt like a little bit of a cheat as there was literally tiny bit left from before holidays - WBA as feels lovely but more of a treat cleanser so will work my way through the other 10+ cleansers in my stash first

Welcome to all the newbies. We are very friendly here.

I have my first uu of the year

Desert Essence Coconut Soft Curls Cream 190ml - I love this and have already replaced, lovely light scent and no crispy curls. I do have some partially used curl creams to finish before I go back to this though. WBA.

My uu rate has taken a hit over the last two weeks due to being ill, I haven't painted my nails since the week before Christmas or used a face mask. I hope normal service will be resumed any day now.

Lovely to see new faces, welcome:D

sbirks23 - I too am a butterfly and find now the best for me is to have a choice of things to use, work through them and then start again. e.g. I have a quick initial cleanser, wipe and/or micellar, a cream cleanser, a cleansing oil, perhaps a balm too. I always do a double cleanse anyway so need at least two on the go and like to take the worst of the make up off before I get to the flannel stage.

Skin can be sensitive, so often have 2 toners, 2 serums to choose from if it is acting up. Trying to be more disciplined with body products and have less bottles cluttering up the shower (and making it easier to clean).

Hi guys. Can I join in this year? I was out of work for a little while last year and I spent all of my savings. I'm glad that I had them. My only debt is a student loan.
Anyway I plan to build my safety net back up this year by only buying things when I need them. This includes toiletries and books. I'm not including nail polish as PP because I have 200 of them and love to wear them all. I won't be buying any new ones unless it's with gift money.
I knew I was going to do this so I shamelessly hit boxing day sales:whistle:
I bought tons of soap and glory stuff a long while back in sales and I am beyond bored of it. I do like it but it lasts so long! The shower gel is not smelling as beautiful as it did. So I'll probably be heavy handed with it. but would re-purchase in future. I have discovered that I prefer lotion to butter but have a ton of butter to use up. I have considered selling some.

    Use ups already this year:
Elvive extraordinary oil shampoo and conditioner. GA The remaining went into the huge mixed pump bottles for everyone else to use. I love it so much but it's just too heavy for my fine hair.
Soap and glory scrub of your life. WBA

Things I will need to repurchase this year:
    nail polish remover
    shampoo (possibly)
    conditioner
    shaving gel
    Hair dye

I have a HUGE stash list and I'll post it on its own in the next post.
I'm not aiming to race through it as I am lucky to have it and it's nice stuff. But I am aiming to appreciate it while not adding to it. I'll have a nice big space under my bed when I'm done.

Thanks for reading. Nice to say hello. I have lurked for a very very long time.

  • Hi everyone!

I have finally joined after quietly lurking for a while. I have already been massively inspired by this thread since about mid-2015 after having a major life changing event (divorce and inevitable breakdown). I promised myself to rebuild a better me and here I am! Ok, I still have plenty of room for improvement but I am happy and healthy and fortunate to be where I am (with a lot of unnecessary spending).

I already downsized a lot in 2017 after catching the Kon Mari tidying and decluttering bug but I can not stand wasting things so this year I am in. I promise to not buy unnecessary toiletries in 2018.

I will do a stocktake tonight and post my list tomorrow.
