Re-mortgage after bankruptcy?

hi
Ive split from my partner 18 months ago. She wants the house sold with little equity in it as its shared ownership. I have my 13 yr old daughter living with me. I want to keep the house but she hated having to pay off her share of our debts and therefore set up an IVA.
It was closed 6 months ago with six months of stigma left on my file.
My current mortgage lender wont lend me £40k to but her out.
What can I do in order to keep the house so that my daighter has somewhere to live beyond 18?
I am 56 and ill be 61 by then. I stand to lose my home and at a near age of retirement, end up living in a room within a shared house with no ability for my daughter to stay.

  • Have you spoken to the housing association to see they have any suggestions? (assumption its an HA if its shared ownership)
If not - then speak to a 'whole of the market' mortgage broker rather than the usual high street banks.
  • Thanx.
Im awaiting some calls from 'unbiased' mortgage advisers.
