Delay repay advice

I bought tickets to visit a friend over Christmas, unfortunately on my way back I had 3 trains, the first was delayed by 20 mins, the second by 33 mins which caused me to miss my last train which had already been cancelled and changed to a replacement bus service and would have got me home over an hour late. As it was I got home over 2 hours later than planned. The first two trains were with East Midlands and the last with crosscountry, but I bought my tickets through virgin. So my question is who do I try and claim the money back from, can I get it all back even though the first train was less than half an hour late because they are all on the same ticket?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!!!
