Halifax Redemption Figure

Hi all
I'm trying to sort my remortgage out early and rang our current provider Halifax for the final redemption figure after our introductory offer period runs out on 31/3/18. They said they were only able to provide the figure for 1 month in advance - which also wouldn't take into account that months payment i.e. my figure for the 30th January would not take into account my January payment. It seemed like they were trying to make it as hard as possible to leave and kept plugging their own deals which I can already see are well off competitors.
Are they obliged to give this information earlier than one month in advance or will I have to work it out myself - which scares me as getting it wrong could be a disaster!

No, they're not obliged to give you a figure further in advance. You don't need an exact figure for a remortgage application anyway, so not sure why you think it would be a disaster?0

How could they give you a redemption figure for months in the future when they won't know whether or not you will have made your future payments?0

A few years back, I re-mortgaged and had to estimate the amount. Turns out I was out by about £250.
I then had to complete a form telling the lender what I planned to do with the extra £250. I told them I was going to have my hair done.

Thanks for the comments. So time to get the calculator out and then overestimate by £500? I'm not planning any overpayments and hoping the Bank of England rate doesn't change before April so should be fairly straight forward.0
