Boots 3 for 2

I bought a gift in boots yesterday, was told at checkout it was part of the 3 for 2 offer but had tired kids with me and shop was heaving so I didn’t go and get the other 2 items. If I go back with my receipt will they allow me to get the other 2 items and only pay for 1?

If it is something that is refundable - just return and then buy 3.
Medicines and one or two other things aren't refundable.0
