NHS pay & annual leave

I am a band 5 NHS nurse working full time, but am currently on maternity leave. I am going back to work on the 5th of February but I will be changing to a new trust. Does anyone know what will happen to my annual leave entitlement from my previous trust? Some say I will be paid for it while others are unsure

You'll receive payment for it in your final salary0

In my Trust, anyone taking Maternity leave are required to do so before the beginning of Leave.0

Hmm.
What you really needed to do is to discuss in advance with your current trust so that you have an actual return-to-work date (5th Feb) and an earlier official one - which you work out based on your accrued AL. E.g. I started work again after a maternity leave in early October, but was officially working for the trust again from late mid August, just off on AL between then and my actual back to work date.
(and, like you, I switched to a new trust on my actual return-to-work date).
I don't know what happens if you haven't sorted this in advance. Morally feels like it should be paid to you by existing trust. Can't see your new trust having anything to do with it.
Suggest you contact HR asap, and get advice from your union.0 -
I was paid for the holidays accrued when I changed trusts following maternity leave. Made sure I worked out the holiday entitlement myself and put that down in my letter of resignation so that there was no confusion.0
