Desperately Need to remortgage but thinking of moving?

Hello,

I’m brand new to the forum...and looking for a bit of advice.

We have an old northern rock mortgage that was bought out by landmark. I’m pretty sure we’re paying a lot (mainly because people keep telling us we are). We want to remortgage but hoping to move in the new year. Is it still worth remortgaging?

I’m just not sure where to even start tbh 😩. Just wondered if someone might be able to point me in the right direction.

Thank you in advance

Peronally I would say yes to remortgaging. Providing you choose a product/lender that you can port across to the new property you purchase. That way you can benefit from lower rates of interest and incur no early redemption penalties. In the meantime overpay your existing mortgage. As you'll be paying a rate of interest that you won't obtain on any other risk free savings product.
