what should i do now?

on her way home today my partner hit a deer in our car. it smashed the drivers headlight, buckled the bonnet and buckled the wing a bit. now, we can't afford to get it fixed and can't drive at night, so all in all a pretty crap day. oh and if you're wandering it didnt even hurt the deer.

How about spare parts from a scrappie? The old tips around here are quickly turning into recycling yards where you can pick up anything.

You may have to drive around with a different coloured bonnet and wing for a while...

I love going to the scrappy. We don't go anymore as we have two newish cars that would need proper work but I used to love scrabbling about trying to find an obscure switch in a door or something else really random. MrS was never as enthusiastic though!

I used to hate it too but am getting used to it due to DFW lifestyle and *whisper* sometimes I really like it!!!

I'm headed to mine soon for an ashtray for my old rover...who knows what I'll find!

Good luck with the car. It's a bummer.

Thats weird - it must be the time for it. My son was coming home with a friend yesterday and his mate did the same thing. Headlight, bonnet, wing and cant get passenger door open (due to wing). I had just posted a message about it on another board. When I hit one between 50/60 it was horrible as the crunch was awful (bright sunny morning in an open soft top) and I was petrified what other half might say but not a mark on the car  . Next time buy a Saab ! but in the mean time there are loads of breakers online where you can order stuff and delivery is really quick. Might even be worth trying ebay for headlamp units etc.
