O/S Daily Wednesday 27th December 2017
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, wet and windy - blustery wind woke me up and I couldn't get back to sleep, so got up and now enjoying first cuppa of the day. I'm back to work today so no lie in or lazy start to the day for me. Work today is likely to be quiet as most people don't realise we are open and also we're not on their priority list at this time of year.
Christmas Day lunch went down well, one of my better efforts and plenty of LO's, yesterday I cooked at mum and dad's with help from youngest sister, beef had nice flavour but was a bit fatty - and mum's oven is a difficult oven to cook in, they paid a lot of money for it when they had the kitchen re-fit several years ago and it's never been great and it's a popular well known expensive one, I'm pleased I don't have to cook with it on a daily basis! The meal was roast beef with the trimmings, desserts were what was left from the previous day.
Dinner tonight will be cold turkey, ham, pork pie, half a small jacket potato each, salad, pickles etc, something easy for after work as I'm on a late finish tonight, I'm then not working again until after New Year. DH is going to take me to work and come and collect me - he's taking some holiday days' he had left.
We all did very well and we have been spoilt with gifts.
Keep safe and well x
