Hi guys

Can anyone explain to me how maternity pay works?

I understood it to be like this:

I will receive 90% of my usual salary for 6 weeks after I have my baby. Then I will receive just £563 per month after that until my maternity time runs out.


Am I wrong or spot on?

I think you are working out the monthly figure based on four weeks but there are more than four weeks in a month. Actual payments will vary depending on how it is paid; the calculater gives the options for monthly pay.

Payments will be made until SMP runs out; maternity leave can be longer.
