Coinbase 'pending' transction

Hi,
Picked up some Litecoin yesterday afternoon at 4pm, whilst I know yesterday was busy etc, the transactions for the purchase are still 'pending' 24 hrs later.
Anyone got a view on this,or how long its likely to take, used debit card also, I've got them at a good price,part of me thinks coinbase will just cancel the transction,although if the price went the other way I doubt they'd allow me to cancel.
